Commuters on the Blue Line of the Delhi Metro, that connects Noida City Centre to Delhi's Dwarka in Delhi, faced a tough time on Friday evening as the trains were slowed down due to a maintenance issue.
The delay in the service also caused a rush at metro stations, and a few were forced to abort their Metro ride.
"It took me around an hour to reach Rajiv Chowk from Noida Sector 16 today (Friday). It usually takes me 25-30 minutes," said Pankaj Kumar, a daily commuter.
"I got down at Rajiv Chowk and took an auto to my home in Dwarka. You never know how long it would take," said Sanjeev, a software engineer working in Noida.
A Delhi Metro official said that the delay was caused by some "maintenance work" of the overhead wires at Dwarka.
