The Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) has filed an FIR against two Ukrainian nationals for illegally possessing Indian passports, police said on Monday.
According to police, the duo originally from Jharkhand, had taken up Ukrainian citizenship nearly a decade back. However, records with the FRRO have recently revealed them to be holding Indian passports as well.
"The complaint was filed earlier in the week after the FRRO found that the two Ukrainians also had Indian passports.
"As they are not currently in India, we have not been able to question them. We have approached authorities concerned to get their whereabouts and also investigating how they got the Indian passports despite being foreign nationals," said a police officer but refused to divulge the identity of the duo.
