The district administration here has asked the Durga Puja organisers to complete the idol immersion by October 1 so that Muharram procession could be taken out on October 3.
The district administration has issued guidelines for constructing marquees, saying disputed places should be avoided.
A consensus has been evolved to complete the idol immersion on October 1, Mahaveer Mandal President Rajeev Ranjan told IANS.
"We have formed the coordination committee of Mahaveer Mandal and Muharram committee to conduct peaceful celebration of Durga Puja and Muharram," he added.
The opposition parties in the state have taken a dig at the BJP government for compelling the idol immersions to be completed on October 1.
