Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday constituted a screening committee to scrutinise party candidates for the upcoming Punjab assembly elections, and named former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot as its chairman.
"Congress President Sonia Gandhi has constituted the screening committee for the forthcoming Punjab assembly election," said the statement released by Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi.
The members of the screening committee include AICC in-charge of Punjab Asha Kumari, Secretary in-charge of Punjab Harish Choudhary, PCC chief Amarinder Singh, CLP leader Charanjeet Singh Channi, Rajiv Satav and Meenakshi Natrajan.
