Congress leading in Chhattisgarh

The opposition Congress was leading in 20 of the 35 seats for which trends were available as counting got underway Sunday morning of the votes cast in the elections for the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly. The ruling BJP was leading in 14 seats.

Most of the trends were from the postal ballots being counted.

The BJP had 50 seats in the Chhattisgarh assembly against the 38 seats of the Congress.
