Congress on Saturday appointed Amrita Dhawan as acting President of its student wing, National Students' Union of India (NSUI) after Roji M. John resigned from the post.
"Consequent upon the resignation of Roji M. John as President of All India NSUI, Congress Vice President and in charge of Frontal Organisations Rahul Gandhi has approved the name of the first Vice-President of NSUI, former President of the Delhi University Students' Union and a sitting member of South Delhi Municipal Corporation Amita Dhawan as the acting President of the All India NSUI with immediate effect," said Congress General Secretary Janardan Dwivedi in a statement.
John resigned as NSUI President on Saturday.
