The Congress on Monday refused comment on spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's role in attempting a solution to the Ram Mandir issue.
Congress Spokesperson Manish Tewari asked the government to clarify if the spiritual leader was its designated interlocutor on the vexed issue or was just a skylarking operation.
When pointed out that Union Minister Prakash Javadekar had denied an official role for Sri Sri on the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, Tewari said: If the Minister says it is not a government sanctioned effort, then there is nothing further to say."
"But I do hope that this gentleman, who is playing the negotiator, has settled issues which the National Green Tribunal has with him."
