Several hundred Congress supporters who were protesting here on Wednesday against the rise in prices of commodities were detained when they tried to break the barriers to march to the Parliament House, police officials said.

"Nearly 200 people have been arrested and have been taken to the Parliament Street police station," an official told IANS.

Senior Congress leaders, including Raj Babbar and Randeep Surjewala, also took part in the protest at Jantar Mantar.
