Senior Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday said the party will field at least 30 per cent new faces in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections due at the end of this year.
Scindia, who heads the party's Election Campaign Committee, said the aspiring candidates must have been active in politics at the level of urban or rural local bodies to be eligible for contesting the assembly poll.
Fresh candidates who have never contested in the past will be given the party ticket at least for 70 seats, he told the media here. The assembly has a total of 231 members, including one nominated.
