Brazil's Corinthians are preparing an offer to sign former Villarreal and Selecao striker Nilmar.
According to Globoesporte Sunday, Corinthians coach Mano Menezes has raised the prospect of bringing the 30-year-old to the Sao Paulo club in the coming weeks, reports Xinhua.
Nilmar is a free agent after rescinding his contract with Qatar's El Jaish last month.
His signing would allow Corinthians to negotiate the sale of their Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero, who is reportedly being courted by four English Premier League clubs.
Corinthians are expected to face competition for Nilmar from their Brazilian Serie A rivals Internacional, who are also on the lookout for a striker.
Nilmar has won 24 caps and scored nine goals for Brazil since his international debut in 2003.
