A delegation of CPI-M leaders Tuesday met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa and sought her AIADMK's support for their candidate in the Feb 7 Rajya Sabha poll.
In a statement issued here, the AIADMK said the CPI-M delegation led by its state secretary G. Ramakrishnan called on Jayalalithaa at her camp office in Kodanadu in Nilgiris district and sought support for their candidate in the ensuing Rajya Sabha polls.
The election for the seats from the state in the upper house is slated next month as the terms of N.Balaganga (AIADMK), T.K.Rangarajan (CPI-M), G.K.Vasan and Jayanthi Natarajan (both Congress), Vasanthi Stanley and A.A.Jinnah (both DMK) comes to an end in April.
Meanwhile Trichi N. Siva, a former Rajya Sabha member and DMK's candidate for the election, filed his nomination Tuesday.
