Brazilian football club Cruzeiro have rejected a second bid from Real Madrid for midfielder Lucas Silva.
The Belo Horizonte club's president, Gilvan Tavares, is said to be seeking at least 15 million euros for the Brazil under-21 international, who has also been linked with Arsenal, reports Xinhua.
"Although (Silva) has spoken positively regarding a potential switch to the Spanish outfit, Tavares' desire to get his price may force him to go elsewhere," Brazilian football news portal Sambafoot said Wednesday.
A holding midfielder who is also capable of playing in an attacking No.10 role, Silva is a key member of the Cruzeiro team that won the past two Brazilian Serie A titles.
A January transfer could see him given an immediate chance in Carlo Ancelotti's first team due to a thigh injury to Luka Modric and lingering fitness doubts over Sami Khedira.
