The curfew in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district continued for the third consecutive day on Sunday with authorities mulling relaxation if the situation showed improvement, police said.
The prohibition was imposed following a communal clash in Khargone on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police Amit Singh told IANS that a two-hour relaxation in curfew was given in Khargone on Saturday and the administration would review the condition and may provide relaxation on Sunday as well.
Though the situation has improved, the curfew has been continued on Sunday as a preventive measure, he said.
The curfew was imposed in the district after a clash between two groups following a verbal spat during the burning of effigies of Ravana on Dussehra.
Meanwhile, the curfew in the state's Gwalior district, imposed on Saturday following a clash between two groups during a procession, was lifted on Sunday after a meeting of the local peace committee, authorities said.
