Accusing Delhi's AAP government of going soft on former chief minister Sheila Dikshit in the CWG scam, the BJP Friday said it would present proof of corruption to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Jan 23.
Delhi BJP president Vijay Goel said the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) levelled corruption charges against Dikshit and her ministers before the elections but was silent after taking power with Congress support.
"(Chief Minister Arvind) Kejriwal is asking for proof against Dikshit. What happened to the 700-page report you prepared against Dikshit before the elections? Where is it now?" asked Goel.
"He (Kejriwal) knows if he attacks Dikshit, the support will be withdrawn and he will lose power," added Goel.
The BJP said evidence was collected from the reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the Central Vigilance Commission, the Shunglu committee and some social organisations on the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
The Shunglu panel indicted the Dikshit government for cost and time overruns in projects related to the Games.
"We will hand over the evidence to the Lt. Governor because we don't trust the chief minister any more. In his greed for power, he has joined hands with the most corrupt party (Congress)," said Goel.
