Cyclonic storm "Roanu" formed over the Bay of Bengal will bring heavy to very heavy rains in Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.
The IMD said the cyclone would intensify into a severe cyclonic storm by Friday night. But it would not cause major damage in the state even though it would pass through the Odisha coast.
The sea was likely to be high to very high along and off the Odisha coast, the IMD said.
