The Election Commission on Thursday made minor modification in the schedule for the fifth phase of assembly polls in Bihar, advancing the date of scrutiny of nominations by a day.
According to an Election Commission release, the date of scrutiny of nominations has been advanced from October 17 to October 16.
"Keeping in view the provisions of Section 30 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the commission has decided to revise the date for scrutiny of nominations for the fifth phase of election as October 16," the release said.
Bihar will go for five-phased election from October 12 to November 5. Counting of votes will take place on November 8.
