Former soccer star David Beckham will be given the first-ever Legend award at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Sports Awards to honour his talent and sportsmanship.
Beckham, who recently celebrated his 15th wedding anniversary with wife Victoria Beckham, will receive the award for being a role model to children both on and off the field. He has also been named the ambassador of United for Wildlife by Prince William, reports people.com.
"He exemplifies the qualities every kid aspires to achieve and his name is the first that comes to mind when we think of his sport," said in a statement issued by Nickelodeon.
