A day after terrorists killed 18 Indian soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called on President Pranab Mukherjee "and held discussions", the Rashtrapati Bhavan tweeted.

"PM Modi called on President Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening and held discussions with the President," a brief announcement said.

No further details were available. Modi declared on Sunday after the attack on an army camp near Uri that the perpetrators won't go unpunished.
