Spanish football club Celta Vigo's defender Gustavo Cabral, who was born in Argentina, has obtained Spanish citizenship and will no longer count as a foreign player on the roster.
The 30-year-old Cabral joined the squad from Levante in the 2012-2013 season and has played more than 100 matches for Vigo, a city in the northwestern region of Galicia, Celta said in a statement on Thursday, reports Efe.
Cabral's contract with the Galician team ends on June 30, 2016, but the club included a clause in the deal that gives it the option to unilaterally renew the contract.
