Rail traffic on the Delhi-Howrah line was restored on Wednesday after two wagons of a goods train that derailed in Uttar Pradesh were removed from the track , a railway official said.
The goods train, going from Dadri to Kanpur, had derailed in Shikohabad late Tuesday, leading to blocking of the important Delhi-Howrah route.
Following this, several trains including Guwahati Rajdhani, Shatabdi Express, New Delhi-Ranchi Gareebrath Express, Sealdah Rajdhani, Vikramshila Express, Kolkata Rajdhani, Satna Rajdhani and Gomti Express to Lucknow were affected.
Officials told IANS that the first derailed coach was removed off tracks late evening and the Gomti Express was routed through Makkhanpur.
