Delhi Police have made elaborate security arrangements for Diwali and Chhath festivals, Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi said Monday.
"Our men, along with several companies of paramilitary forces, will be deployed on Delhi roads and in markets before and on the day of Diwali," Bassi said.
Diwali will be celebrated Oct 23 while the four-day Chhath festivities will start from Oct 27.
Bassi said they had approached civic agencies to install CCTV cameras on the banks of Yamuna river for "Chhath Puja".
He said traffic policemen will be deployed near ghats where people were expected in large numbers.
Railway officials have been requested to help police in managing crowds outside railway stations, he added.
