The Delhi government Thursday decided to set up a 700-bed super-specialty hospital. It also extended the Delhi Government Employee Health Scheme (DGEHS) facilities for senior resident doctors in the city's government hospitals.
The Indira Gandhi Hospital would be set up in Dwarka, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced after a cabinet meeting.
"We have been expanding the healthcare infrastructure in the city... The new hospital will provide comprehensive healthcare to residents of west Delhi including Dwarka and neighbouring localities and villages," she said.
The hospital would provide 24X7 emergency services, maternity services, surgical facilities, special ward block, super-specialty services and teaching facilities.
