Dhanush, Rajinikanth will team up for 'Kabali 2'

Actor Dhanush's next production venture featuring superstar Rajinikanth will reportedly be a sequel to Tamil action-drama "Kabali", according to a well-placed source.

On Monday, Dhanush shared on his Twitter page that he will be collaborating with "Kabali" director Pa Ranjith and Rajinikanth on a new project.

"It's going to be 'Kabali 2'. Dhanush has taken permission from producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu to continue 'Kabali' franchise with the second part. The project, however, will only materialise next year, after the release of '2.o' in the summer," a source close to Dhanush told IANS.

Dhanush, known for producing films such as "Kaaka Muttai" and "Visaaranai", will bankroll the project under Wunderbar Films.

Ranjith, according to the source, has already readied a one-liner of the script.

"He pitched the idea and Dhanush really liked it. So much so that, he agreed to produce the film. It will be an interesting take on the Kabali character, and will be presented in a new light," he said.
