Singer John Mayer says he is completely different from his girlfriend Katy Perry and this keeps their relationship strong.

The couple, who recently teamed up for a song "Who you love" for Mayer's album "Paradise Valley", got back together after a brief split.

"The fact that we're on such different sides of the coin actually keeps a lot of conflict at bay," Rolling Stones magazine quoted Mayer as saying.

"She's a whole different vibration of what's going on, and I'm totally supportive. I can say, 'Hey, how was work?' and really wonder how work was. It's a nice existence," he added.
