Aiming to "disintegrate" the India-Bangladesh frontier, Art Beyond Borders has brought a group show to the national capital with the works of 20 eminent contemporary artists from both nations.

"Integrated Art: India and Bangladesh" will run at 1AQ, Qutub Minar, till Nov 30.

Art Beyond Borders has been a voyage in India fostering an interactive residency programme for artists from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations. A six-day workshop in Lucknow last year produced these magnificent masterpieces being showcased at the gallery.

Senior artists like Jatin Das, R.B. Bhaskaran, Dhiraj choudhary, Anandmoy Banerji, Swapan Das and Brinda Miller, along with Rafiqune Nabi, Sheikh Afzal, Kanak Champa Chakma and Jamal Ahmed from Bangladesh, among others, are participating in the show.

"We hope to fill the void left by sub-continental politicking and diplomacy, allowing art to speak. We aspire to bring all the eight SAARC nations on the same platform with art and cultural exchange" said Art Beyond Borders executive director Sandhya Singh Parmar said.

The show has artworks like Sudip Roy's 'Charulata', a strong female character out of Tagore's book; Babla Seth's sculpture with recycled iron, nuts and bolts and Sheikh Afzal's fascination street children's bliss transferred on canvas.
