Actress-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar will walk the ramp for GARO by Priyangsu Maji and Sweta Tantia at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 here on Sunday.
Titled 'Femmes di Tahiti', the collection theme is inspired by native Tahitian prints, colours and motifs. It incorporates beautiful floral landscapes and bohemian style of Tahitian women with an eclectic French Polynesian flavour.
"It is a pleasure being a part of Lakme Fashion Week as this is going to be our second season. We are really excited and we look forward to it. We've put in a lot of hard work and effort... We await this beautiful journey," designers Priyangsu Maji and Sweta Tantia said in a joint statement.
The garments are easy flowing silhouettes having a soft handloom chanderi, cotton matka, woven bapta silk and chiffon textures with vibrant colours straight out of works of the master of avant-garde, Paul Gauguin.
Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016, a five-day fashion extravaganza, will start on Wednesday.
