Doctors are happy with the progress of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and his health condition is stable, his office said on Monday.

"(Doctor) Pramod Garg from AIIMS who is heading the treatment of Honourable Chief Minister @manoharparrikar has conducted a thorough check up... The doctors are happy with his progress and the Chief Minister continues to be stable," the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a tweet.

Parrikar, who is suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer, was admitted to the Goa Medical College on Saturday, where he is now being treated by Garg, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Associate Dean (Research) and renowned gastroenterologist.

While, state Health Minsiter Vishwajit Rane on Sunday evening said that Parrikar would be discharged within a day, Goa Bharatiya Janata Party President Vinay Tendulkar said that the decision to shift the Chief Minister to AIIMS would be taken by the team of doctors attending to him.

"Doctors will decide whether he should be taken to AIIMS to he will stay here. The AIIMS team will decide whether he should be shifted or he will be treated here," Tendulkar said.

Parrikar was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in February 2018 and has been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi and New York since.
