The candidates in the Delhi University Students Union Sep 13 election will be attracting voters through addresses on the university community radio and website, said an official statement Tuesday.
"In order to provide an opportunity to the candidates reach a wider audience, the university has decided to allow the broadcast of speeches on the website and the community radio," said the statement.
The speeches would first be verified and, if required, edited by a committee comprising the chief election commissioner, chief returning officer and returning officer.
"The speeches for each post shall be broadcast according to the alphabetical order of each posts and time slots would be provided on the radio as per availability," added the statement.
The university has issued strict guidelines on the use of posters for campaigning and warned that violations would invite police action.
