Rio de Janeiro, June 15 (IANS/EFE) Following their 5-1 thrashing of title holders Spain in the World Cup, the Netherlands players had a light, fun-themed training session Saturday.
The Dutch team were treated as heroes after returning to their camp here, post their Group B win in Salvador, reports EFE.
Coach Louis van Gaal allowed the players' sons into the training field to play with their fathers, especially man of the match Robin van Persie, who scored a spectacular header to equalise the scoreline Friday.
Van Gaal has always stressed about the importance of the relationship between players and their families during the World Cup.
The player who took to the field against Spain, had a light session while the rest of the squad had a heavier session.
