Hours after his diplomatic passport was suspended, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought a non-bailable warrant of arrest against liquor baron Vijay Mallya, official sources said here on Friday.

The ED moved a special court seeking the NBW and the matter is expected to come up for hearing on Saturday, the sources said.

Mallya, currently on a business tour abroad, has failed to honour ED summons thrice for questioning in various cases pertaining to his loans of Rs.9,000 crore and allegations of money-laundering.

After he failed to appear in person on March 18, April 2 and April 9, he has now sought time till May to come to the ED, as he is abroad since March 2.
