Brazil's Flamengo on Wednesday confirmed the signing of attacking midfielder Ederson from Italian Serie A club Lazio.
The 29-year-old agreed to join the Rio de Janeiro outfit until the end of the 2017 season after rescinding his contract with the Biancazzurri, Xinhua news agency reported.
"He will arrive on Friday and will wear the No.10," Flamengo football director Rodrigo Caetano said.
"He sacrificed a lot to come here. It's important that the fans know how much he appreciates the opportunity to wear the Flamengo shirt."
Ederson made just four first-team appearances for Lazio last season after falling out of favor with manager Stefano Pioli.
Having begun his career at Brazil's Internacional in 2004, Ederson has also represented Juventude, Nice and Lyon. He has been capped once for Brazil's national team.
