Egypt's football team Al Ahly won the CAF Confederation Cup beating Ivory Coast's Sewe Sport by a solitary goal here Saturday.
Al Ahly's Emad Meteb scored the only goal of the match at the last moment of the six-minute extra time in front of over 25,000 spectators at the Cairo International Stadium, Xinhua reported.
Sewe Sport had edged Al Ahly 2-1 in the first leg, but Al Ahly's 1-0 win at home gave it the annual championship, by virtue of the rule that a goal abroad is worth two.
With this last-gasp second-leg victory, Al Ahly became the first Egyptian club to hold the CAF Confederation Cup and the first worldwide, to clinch 20 continental championships.
In a statement conveyed by the presidential spokesman, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi congratulated Al Ahly and its fans on the continental triumph and praised its performance in the match that was attended by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.
