The officer told IANS that the minibus, going to Panasa village from Reasi town, went down the 300-metre deep gorge near Panasa Gali, 15 km from Reasi, after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Eight people were killed on the spot and many others injured, the police official said, adding that rescue and relief efforts have begun and senior officials have reached the site.
Five people were killed and four others injured in north Kashmir's Kupwara district Thursday when a passenger vehicle rolled down a deep gorge, nearly 300 feet deep, at Z-Gali on the Machail-Kupwara Road, police said.
