Actors Idris Elba, Imelda Staunton and Barbara Windsor are among entertainment celebrities who were included in Queen Elizabeth's Honours List for the New Year.
Others on the list include actors Sian Phillips and James Nesbitt, screenwriter Peter Morgan, Blur frontman Damon Albarn and DJ Clifford Price, reports variety.com.
Windsor and Phillips were made Dames; Elba, Nesbitt and Albarn became OBEs (Order of the British Empire); Staunton was made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire); and Price an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire).
They are among 1,196 honourees conferred with titles this New Year by the queen of Britain. The list comes out twice a year, on her birthday in June and for the New Year.
