England were 325 for eight, taking a 173-run first innings lead over India, at lunch on day three of the fourth cricket Test at Old Trafford here Saturday.

A 134-run seventh wicket partnership between Joe Root (77) and Jos Buttler (70) helped the hosts to consolidate their grip over the match.

But two wickets from Pankaj Singh, who finally took a wicket after bowling a total of 69.2 overs in the third and fourth Test, towards the end of the session took some of the momentum away from the English.
