England and Lancashire wicket-keeper Jos Buttler is set to undergo x-rays on an injured thumb after hurting it against Worcestershire in a T20 Blast game.
Buttler hurt his left thumb while keeping for Lancashire on Friday. But that did not stop the 25-year-old from coming back and smashing a 23-ball 57 which propelled his side to victory.
However, it was later revealed by coach Ashley Giles that the stumper will have to undergo x-rays.
"We'll get it X-rayed and see where he is. It's not ideal," Giles was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au."I don't want to speculate, but it's a nasty knock. Once we get it X-rayed, we'll know."
Buttler has been at the top of his games in recent times. He has scored two T20 half tons in the last week.
However, his good form could not earn him a Test recall as the national selectors chose Gary Ballance for the first Test against Pakistan starting on Thursday.
