Police in Nagaland Thursday recovered the bullet-ridden body of a leader of ULFA's anti-talk faction executed by the group on charges of colluding with Indian authorities.
The United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) of elusive leader Paresh Baruah announced Wednesday that it had executed Partha Asom alias Partha Pratim Gogoi, assistant finance secretary of the group.
His body was found in Upper Tiru area in Nagaland, which adjoins Assam.
Gogoi was accused of "anti-ULFA activities" including financial irregularities and having secret pacts with police and security forces in Assam.
ULFA also said he was planning to surrender to Assam Police Jan 26. The dead man's brother identified the body Thursday.
