Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday said policemen working on holidays will be given additional allowances and his government is making efforts to modernise the police force.

"The state government is considering to give additional allowances to policemen working on holidays," he said.

Expressing deep condolence over the death of policemen in the Maoist insurgency, Das said the state government would help the families of the martyrs.

Offering an appointment letter to ex-Maoist leader Balmuni, he said the government was committed to bring all the misguided youth into the mainstream of society.
