A group of unidentified men failed in their attempt to burgle a state-run bank here, police said Thursday.
The attempt was spotted by a security guard when he opened the shutter of a Punjab National Bank branch in east Delhi's Preet Vihar area around 10 a.m.
He immediately informed police.
Sarika Sen Gupta, senior manager of the branch, told IANS that the burglars broke the lock of an iron almirah where some documents were kept.
A police officer said: "As of now, lockers are safe but they (burglars) tried to break the door of the strong room. A LCD TV is missing."
"A window grill was found to be broken and a few things were misplaced. The wire of the CCTV camera installed inside the bank was also detached," he said.
