Eredivisie leaders Ajax suffered their second defeat of the season (0-1) against FC Utrecht.

Ajax hardly created chances in a lacklustre performance here on Sunday. Three minutes from time Yassin Ayoub produced the winning goal for the home-team. With the result, Ajax remained without a win at Utrecht for the seventh time in a row, reports Xinhua.

Also on Sunday, Feyenoord failed to profit fully from Ajax' defeat. The Rotterdam-based club went behind at FC Groningen after Hedwiges Maduro hit the post and Michael de Leeuw scored from the rebound.

Dirk Kuijt equalised in the second half with a shot touched by Groningen defender Hans Hateboer. After Jan-Arie van der Heijden received a red card for bringing down Jesper Drost Feyenoord had to continue with ten men, but despite some chances for Groningen the 1-1 score did not change.

After qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League last Tuesday reigning Dutch champions PSV dropped points at home against Roda JC Kerkrade on Saturday 1-1.

Roda got in front when Joshua Brenet deflected an attempt by Tomi Juric into his own goal, although the goal should not have been allowed due to offside by Edwin Gyasi.

PSV pushed Roda back in the second half, but only managed to score once through a header by Davy Propper.

Despite the defeat Ajax maintained the lead with 38 points from 16 matches, with Feyenoord (36) and PSV (35) only getting a little closer.
