Actor Darsheel Safary, who made his Bollywood debut with "Taare Zameen Par" in 2007, has completed a decade in showbiz. He feels happy that people still recognise him for playing Ishaan Awasthi, and have attached it to their memory.

He was just 10 years old when he essayed the role of a dyslexic child, Ishaan, in the Aamir Khan directorial.

"It's been a fantastic experience. Ten years have taught me so much. I did three more films, a dance-based reality show and a few ads (after 'Taare Zameen Par'). After school, I crazily read and learned things about movies," Darsheel told IANS.

"I got into theatre recently and that is another world in itself. I like it so much that I've decided to continue doing theatre with films.

"The best part is people still remember 'Taare Zameen Par' and really like my character. It's a great feeling when people attach your performance as a pleasant memory in their life and love you for it even after a decade," he added.

"Taare Zameen Par" will be aired on &pictures on Thursday.

Darsheel, 20, has also appeared in films like "Bumm Bumm Bole", "Zokkomon" and "Midnight's Children".

"I can't wait to work in the film industry full time. I literally live and breathe cinema, so I can't wait to get back," he said.

Darsheel will soon start shooting for "Quickie", which will also feature actress Shweta Tiwari's daughter Palak.

"'Quickie' is one film that adequately showcases the college life and teen scenario. It's a youth-oriented comedy which is in absolute touch with reality and people. The youth will relate to it," Darsheel said.

"We are rolling soon. We have taken our time in the workshops and developing the story. Palak is very talented and it's in her genes.

"We had loads of fun during the workshops and discussed about our respective characters and learnt a lot of interesting things. I think everyone will be surprised once the film comes out," he added.
