Pakistan team landed themselves into trouble following their wild celebrations after winning the hockey Champions Trophy semi-final match against India at the Kalinga stadium here Saturday.
Their wild celebrations irked the International Hockey Federation (FIH), which ordered an investigation and asked the tournament director to probe the matter before the final Sunday.
After beating India 4-3, Pakistani players celebrated opening their shirts while some players made some unruly gestures towards the fans.
The FIH took strong exception to the Pakistani players' behaviour.
"We will investigate into the matter. The tournament director will investigate and submit the report before final. Appropriate action will be taken after examining the report," Ken Read, competition committee chairman of FIH, told reporters.
India's coach Roelant Oltmans also disapproved the behaviour of Pakistani players.
"The celebration looks little bit too much," Oltmans said.
Indian captain Sardar Singh said such things give the wrong message.
