Filmmaker S. Shankar on Saturday congratulated the team behind R. Madhavan-starrer Tamil-Hindi bilingual "Irudhi Suttru", calling it a "great effort".
"'Irudhi Suttru" - 'A salute to women'. Great effort by the director Sudha. Superb performance by Ritika and Maddy. Good music by Santhosh," Shankar posted on his Twitter page.
The film, which was released in Hindi as "Saala Khadoos", is the story of mentor-mentee relationship between a boxing coach and his student.
In Tamil, the film reportedly raked in over Rs.6 crore at the Tamil Nadu box-office in the opening weekend.
The film is directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, who will soon helm the film's Telugu remake with actor Venkatesh.
