Turkish football club Besiktas announced on Thursday that it has signed German striker Mario Gomez for a one-year loan from Italy's Fiorentina.
"Welcome, Mario Gomez," Besiktas headlined in its statement which also confirmed the agreement reached with Fiorentina to include the German international during the 2015-16 season with an option of a permanent purchase, reports Efe.
Mario, 30, will receive a guaranteed salary of 3.5 million euros during the upcoming season, according to the Istanbul-based team.
This is the third deal to be finalised by Besiktas in recent days, after securing a return for its Portuguese legend Ricardo Quaresma and signing the Brazilian Luiz Rhodolfo.
