Abu Dhabi, Nov 7 (IANS/WAM) The first batch of United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Armed Forces troops returned on Saturday from Yemen.
Prior to their return, they handed over responsibilities over to the second batch who are already stationed in Yemen as part of the Saudi-lead Arab Coalition forces.
One of the first batch's most notable roles was the liberation of Mareb province from Houthi militias and their allies, the forces of deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
The first batch personnel were accorded heroes' welcomes by the citizens and residents who lined the streets to greet them while waving the nation's flag.
