At least five security personnel were killed Thursday when a checkpost was attacked by a suicide bomber in Pakistan's northwest North Waziristan province, Urdu TV channel Geo reported.
Gunfire was heard after the blast, Xinhua reported.
An explosive-laden car rammed into the checkpost in Datta Khel area, 14 km from North Waziristan's capital town Miransha. Eight other security personnel were injured in the attack.
On Wednesday, US drones fired four missiles at a house and a vehicle near Miranshah, killing at least 17 suspected militants including a Haqqani network commander.
