Fixed-match between BJP and YSR Congress: TDP

Telugu Desam Party Member Parliament Kesineni Srinivas on Wednesday said that "delay" in accepting the resignations of five YSR Congress lawmakers was akin to a fixed match between the BJP and Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

"As the elections are coming, the five parliamentarians resigned in an act of public stunt to fool the people of Andhra" Srinivas told the media.

The five MPs who resigned during the budget session are Vara Prasad Rao, Y.V. Subba Reddy, P.V. Midhun Reddy, Y.S. Avinash Reddy and the party floor leader Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. They resigned over the failure of the central government to grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

"They accepted the resignation of B.S. Yeddyurappa within two days. It's been more than two months the BJP government is deliberately holding their resignations." The reason for the slow down of their resignations is to provide a good stature to them in Andra Pradesh he said.

The Lok Sabha Speaker on May 29 had requested the MPs to reconsider their resignations, they met her in the national capital on Wednesday to submit fresh letters, urging her to accept their resignations.

Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy told reporters after the meeting that they conveyed to the Speaker that there is no change in their decision. They replied in affirmative when she wanted to know if this is their final decision.

He warned the opposition YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy saying: "If Jagan is going to stitch alliance with BJP, he will suffer a major political setback in Andhra Pradesh."
