At least four people were killed and 40 others injured in a suicide car bombing in Kabul on Tuesday afternoon, Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman said.
The blast occurred when an explosives-packed Toyota Corolla car was detonated in the parking area of the Ministry of Justice's offices in PD2 district of the Afghan capital. The attack took place around 4.30 p.m. while ministry staff were leaving for the day, TOLOnews reported.
The explosion was heard for miles around and buildings in close proximity were damaged.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for Tuesday's attack.
President Ashraf Ghani has strongly condemned the attack.
Security forces and emergency personnel were on the scene within minutes of the explosion.
This was the second fatal suicide bombing in Kabul in two days.
On Sunday, a suicide bomber used a Toyota Corolla to ram a European Union Police Mission vehicle. Three people were killed and 18 injured.
