Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) Vice-Chairperson Kanchan Verma on Tuesday inspected a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) project site in the district to review the ongoing work.
She said the work was progressing at a satisfactory pace, adding that 70 per cent civil work and 30 per cent work related to laying of rail tracks in Ghaziabad had been completed.
She also said that GDA is working to install biometric machines at its offices, which will not only cut the paperwork but also make it easy to calculate salaries of employees.
The salaries will be computed after analysing the attendance of a particular staff member, Verma said.
The GDA official said she had begun to physically verify project works in Ghaziabad district so as to ensure their timely completion.
Verma said the construction of the grade separator to tackle traffic problems at the Meerut tri-junction, which was suspended for want of clearance from the Forest Department, will start in May. The permission to cut 70 trees had been granted to the GDA, she said.
