The judicial custody of former Delhi University professor S.A.R. Geelani, arrested on sedition charges, was extended on Thursday till March 16, officials said.

Geelani was presented in court after the expiry of his earlier 14-day judicial custody. The hearing was conducted at an undisclosed location due to security concerns.

The Kashmiri teacher was arrested after police registered a case on February 10 against Geelani for organising a meeting at the Press Club of India in Delhi to mark the death anniversary of parliament attack convict Afzal Guru, who was executed on February 9, 2013.

Police alleged that anti-national slogans were raised by a section of Kashmiri students during the event.
